Rowhouse 1: Text
Rowhouse #1 is a two-story dwelling, with a loft that looks into the double-height living area. Designed for passive solar performance, it has large roof overhangs and exterior fin walls that protect the large expanse of glass on the street façade during the warmest months. Inside, the private spaces are defined by birch plywood cladding, and the stairs were fabricated from reclaimed lumber salvaged during the remodeling of Old Main. This rowhouse will be inhabited by the UA medical students who make up the EMS team. Photos by Rachael Varin.
