Armadillo House was built as a super-insulated wall system, with light gauge steel framing engineered with four-foot bays to save on materials. Careful detailing provided thermal breaks between the framing and cladding. Designed with a long axis running north-south, this home has interior courtyards that allow for more north and south glazing and effective natural ventilation. Project architect: John Folan.
